You Should Buy the ARTIQ Replacement Kit If…
You should buy the ARTIQ Replacement Kit if you use the 510 thread battery often. The parts that are included in the kit as eventually going to need a replacement so its important to have them on hand, ready for when you need to refresh the Artiq’s performance.
What Each Part Actually Does
The magnetic collar is the adapter that connects a standard 510 cartridge to the ARTIQ's magnetic connection, since the device doesn't thread onto a cartridge directly. The three seals sit at different points along the ARTIQ's extended airpath and are what keep that path sealed from end to end, rather than letting outside air leak in along the way.
Why Worn Seals Hurt the ARTIQ Specifically
The ARTIQ's whole pitch is vapor that's roughly 90% cooler by the time it reaches you, and that only happens because vapor travels through a long, sealed path before it gets there. A worn or missing seal breaks that seal partway through, which lets outside air leak in and weakens the draw.
Using Extra Collars for Cartridge Rotation
Beyond just having a spare, extra magnetic collars are worth keeping around if you rotate between more than one cartridge. Thread a collar onto each cartridge you use regularly, and you can swap between them with the magnetic connection, without unthreading and rethreading a single collar back and forth every time you want to switch between carts.
