How it Works<\/h3>\n

The basic functionality of the Dabox is the same as almost all wax pens and concentrate vaporizers. It has a battery, an atomizer, and a mouthpiece. There are a few twists on the classic setup that make this unique though.<\/p>\n

For starters, this has a side-by-side design, meaning the atomizer and vapor pathway are located beside the battery instead of on top. Instead of having an atomizer that screws on to the battery, it\u2019s actually located on a swiveling arm at the bottom of the unit. The coils screw into an adapter piece which actually just pops in and out of place in the arm.<\/p>\n

\"Vivant<\/a><\/p>\n

Above the atomizer is a glass tube that connects to the mouthpiece. This doesn\u2019t serve any purpose other than to let the vapor expand and cool a bit before reaching your lungs. A silicone splash guard separates the chamber from this expansion area.<\/p>\n

To use this, you just click the single button five times to turn it on. Once it is on, all you have to do is click and hold the button and inhale.<\/div><\/div>

\n

\"Temperature<\/a>Temperature Flexibility<\/h3>\n

This doesn\u2019t have any temperature or power flexibility at all. It\u2019s either on or off, and that\u2019s it, just like the Evolve Plus<\/a>. You can theoretically pulse the button to keep it from getting as hot, but the results aren\u2019t reliably consistent. The max wattage output is 40W.<\/p>\n

This is one area that I think leaves a lot to be desired. This hits extremely hard, and I would have liked the ability to tone down the intensity. The users looking for more temperature settings to adjust the heat to their preferred taste can take look at Source Orb 4 Premium Kit that has 5 preset temperature settings.<\/span>\u00a0<\/div><\/div>

\"Flavor<\/a><\/p>\n

Vapor Quality<\/h3>\n

As far as vapor goes, the thing that this does extremely well is hit hard. This is especially true with the dual quartz Clapton coil, which is actually supposed to have the lower temperature of the two coils that are included!<\/p>\n

This is probably due to the increased surface area of the Clapton coils, but the dual quartz regular-style coils hit very hard as well. They heat up a lot faster too.<\/p>\n

I thought the flavor was better with the non-Clapton coils. The Claptons were very good at the beginning of a draw, but noticeably dropped off during it.<\/p>\n

The regular coils kept a more consistent flavor throughout. With that being said, neither option performed all that well as far as flavor goes.\"Vivant<\/a><\/p>\n

The big problem with both coils is that I got a lot of splatter. I\u2019ve tried a lot of atomizers, including too many to count that are dual quartz coils. These seemed to have more splatter than average, and the silicone guard gets clogged relatively fast. Speaking of, I don\u2019t really like the silicone being in there. They should have built the splatter guard into the glass tube somehow. Anyhow, users who like to taste their concentrated and looking for units that give higher flavor can consider devices like the Linx Hypnos Zero<\/a> as it does not use exposed coils. <\/div><\/div><\/span>

\"Manufacturing<\/a><\/p>\n

Manufacturing Quality<\/h3>\n

This is built well and feels solid. I like the side-by-side design too. It\u2019s really no different than a wax pen, but it isn\u2019t as tall as the Linx Ares Kit<\/a>, so you can hide it in your palm more easily. There was also room for a bigger battery, which is always nice.<\/p>\n

There a couple of things I would definitely change. One thing is the silicone splatter guard being in there close to the heat. I know it should theoretically be fine, but I would have been more comfortable with glass. I also would have liked to have temperature options, and a ceramic dish style atomizer would have been nice as well.<\/div><\/div> <\/span>

\"Ease<\/a>Battery Life<\/h3>\n

The battery life is good. The capacity of the internal battery is 1500mAh, which is enough to take care of heavy dabbing over an entire day.<\/p>\n

If you are a light user who only takes a dab or two a day, this could last several days easily. The battery size is one of the main advantages this has over a typical wax pen, which typically max out at around 650mAh like the Kandypens Elite<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This also has 2A charging, meaning it will charge fast when it comes time to.<\/div><\/div>

\"Portability<\/a><\/h3>\n

Portability<\/h3>\n

The portability of this is great despite the bigger battery. The boxier design may not be as elegant as the Utillian 5 wax pen<\/a>, but it\u2019s still comfortable to carry in your pocket.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s also a nice size for gripping with your hand, so carrying it that way isn\u2019t bad either. When you factor in battery life, this becomes one of your best options for on-the-go concentrate consumption.<\/div><\/div>

\"\"<\/a><\/h3>\n

Ease of Use<\/h3>\n

This is extremely easy to use. You just swing the arm open, load the atomizer, click the button five times, then press the button and take a draw.<\/p>\n

If you follow those four simple steps, you will be producing vapor with the Dabox.<\/p>\n

It doesn\u2019t get much easier than that and could easily compete with Utillian 2 Wax Pen<\/a>. The only thing that I had the occasional hard time with was getting the atomizer adapter thing to slide into place in the arm. By having a hard time, I mean that sometimes it took a few seconds to get it to slide in. It\u2019s not a real problem.<\/div><\/div>

\"Overall<\/a>Overall Experience<\/h3>\n

I\u2019m very conflicted by the Vivant Dabox. On one hand, there are a bunch of things I really like about it. On the other, there are some major areas for improvement.<\/p>\n

The thing I really like about this is how small and portable it is. The battery life is better than almost all the wax pens that I\u2019ve tried, and it also packs an extremely powerful punch. A single draw off this is often enough to get me where I want to be going, if you know what I mean.<\/p>\n

In these ways, it\u2019s almost the perfect on-the-go concentrate vape. When I\u2019m out and about, I value speed and convenience over everything else.<\/p>\n

The areas I really would have like to see improved are temperature flexibility and overall vapor quality – especially flavor. Lower temperature options and a ceramic dish atomizer would have made this an excellent choice for at home sessions as well, making it a much more versatile vaporizer overall.<\/p>\n
